People search for these under half a dozen names. Mini skid steer, mini track loader, compact track loader, stand-on loader, walk-behind loader. They're all the same thing: a small tracked machine with a bucket on the front that you stand on or walk behind. If you're moving material or levelling ground, this is what you want.
The rule of thumb is simple. Digging down — a trench, footings, a stump — is mini excavator work. Moving material across — dirt, gravel, mulch, sod, pallets — or grading a surface flat is loader work. Plenty of projects need both, and we'll tell you which if you describe the job.
Tracks matter on a lawn. They spread the machine's weight across a wide footprint, so a tracked loader marks up turf far less than a wheeled one. On a saturated yard any machine leaves prints, but on normal ground these recover in a week or two.

MEASURE YOUR GATE
The YSRT14 machines are 39 inches wide. Most backyard gates in the valley run 36 to 48. Measure the narrowest point on the route in — gate, sidewalk, the gap between house and fence — and write it down. Under 36? Call us before you book; there's usually a way.
HOW MUCH DIRT?
A few yards of mulch, a gravel path, levelling a patch of lawn — the gas machines handle it easily. Ten yards of fill, a whole yard regrade, a driveway base — Scoop Dog's diesel torque earns its extra cost in time saved.
WHAT'S ON THE FRONT?
The attachment decides the job more than the machine. A trencher makes it a trencher. A stump grinder makes it a stump grinder. Tell us what you're doing and we'll set the machine up before it arrives.
Whatever you're doing generates spoil, debris or leftover material. A loader with the bucket on is the fastest way to clean up afterward, and the dump trailer takes it away the same day. Most people plan the dig and forget the cleanup. Plan both.
